Happy New Year

2nd January 2017 Off By WinchCC

Happy New Year to all members of the club.

Here are a few updates before moving into 2017

Committee Meeting Minutes from December have been emailed out to all club members. Amongst quite a lot of detail you will see that Neil is proposing a Strava based time trial league next year & we are talking to Cheltenham Cycles who have offered to arrange a Trek demo day for the club on 27th May – further details will follow.

Congratulations to two more of our club member couples who were married in December – Stuart & Ann and Richard & Kathryn.

Sunday Road Run List – Terry has kindly produced a new list which Brian circulated – a downloadable pdf can be found on the road page of the site.

HONC – the public entry will open on Entry Central Sat. 7th Jan. at 07.00hr. http://www.entrycentral.com/honc

We have again organised a separate private entry for Club Members & this will open in late January or early February. Normal entries will be available & also special entry for Riding Marshals – an email will be sent to everyone to confirm the date & access details, meanwhile you do not need to take any action. If you have a friend who is not a club member who wants to ride – they will have to use the public system.

Boxing Day downhill ride – thanks to Brian for organising the Boxing day ride again this year.

A Year in the life of Winchcombe – Local resident and video producer, Andrew Davies has launched a new film celebrating a year in the life of Winchcombe. The 60-minute film follows the life of the town throughout the year and features 25 different stories of local people, organisations and events. We co-operated with him on a section on HONC & many of you will appear singing a refrain from the 12 days of Christmas which we recorded many weeks ago now in the car park of the library before our usual Sunday Rides.

It’s a fascinating insight into how much goes on in Winchcombe in a year – if you are interested copies are available online http://www.winchcombevideo.co.uk or from the Emporium or Cafe 6.

Very best wishes for a Happy & Healthy New Year & safe cycling.
