WCC annual dinner & prize giving

11th May 2015 Off By WinchCC

This year’s annual dinner & prize giving was held at Prescott Lodge on Sunday 3rd May with a record attendance of 103 club members and their families.

Newly appointed club president John Taylor warmly thanked retiring president Brian Hayward for his many years of selfless service to the club. Brian had already been appointed an Honorary Vice President of the club at the recent AGM & also presented with a framed collage of images depicting personal cycling events & memories, by John Mackelworth, Club Secretary.

John then went on to review the club’s progress & many activities over the past year & congratulated the 48 club members who completed this year’s Hell of the North Cotswolds event &then looked forward to the challenges of the next year.

His message was that the club is flourishing & membership is rising. The club has an awful lot going for it & has a very supportive & enthusiastic membership.

“I hope & believe that by working & enjoying ourselves together we can take our club very positively & importantly have some great fun along the way”

The prize giving followed and the winners were:-

  • The Handicap Trophy for the best Time Trialler on the Teddington/Toddington course – Andrew Barnes
  •  The Clive Blissett Time Trial Cup for the Bredon Hill circuit – Neil Reynolds
