Strava and Time Trial Programmes

Dear Club Members

Now that Spring is here and the days are longer you must be itching to get out on the bike in the evenings and give yourself a challenge. This year we have two challenges for you, The Strava Challenge and a season long Time Trial programme over distances from 5 to 25 miles.

STRAVA CHALLENGE
Welcome to the first month of the Winchcombe Cycling Club’s Strava Challenge .  Over the next six months we are going to be releasing 2 segments per month and monitor the Club Strava Activity board to see who has been riding through them.

Not sure what Strava is or what you need to take part?  Here is a short overview of what it’s about and how to use it, click here

If you’re thinking about joining Strava for the first time I would suggest asking one of your fellow club members for advice as we have over 50 members currently using the site /app. A link to the Winchcombe Cycling Strava Club can be found here.

  • You must be a member of Winchcombe Cycling Club
  • Join the Winchcombe Cycling Strava Club
  • Ride the segments within the month they are valid
  • Only solo efforts will be valid, any group rides will not be eligible
  • Abide by the rules of the highway code at all times
  • Use common sense and show courtesy to other road users

In April were are starting off with simple segments to get the ball rolling, We will introduce loops, out and backs + longer climbs once the ball gets rolling.

1: Gretton Fields – towards Winchcombe – link

2: Winchcombe outskirts – towards Toddington – link

Each month when we release 2 new segments we will also release the list of last months segments results. Segments will be valid from the 1st April – 29th April inclusive.  The last day of each month is used to record the results.

This is a bit of fun and will hopefully enable us to gain some inspiration from where our fellow club members have been cycling.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact Neil Reynolds
