HONC 33

Dear club members,

On behalf of the Organising Committee a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who helped make HONC 17 such a success.

Between WCC & our friends at Cheltenham & County CC we again fielded over 100 volunteers yesterday & many others contributed in the days & weeks leading up to the event.

HUGE thanks also to Gloucestershire Police for their invaluable help at the start, Winchcombe School, St John, Guiting Power Village Hall & Playing Field & particularly our many landowners for their co-operation. Thanks also to Leisure Lakes who did a great job all day keeping bikes rideable & last but by no means least the Rangers at Cleeve Common who did such a great job signing & routing us over Cleeve Common.

The video below shows a 3D video of this year 100k route provided by a club member using the relive.cc service

Let the sun shine
We were blessed with the best weather we have had for many years, trails were dry & fast riding & approaching 1200 riders saw the Cotswolds at their very finest. David Thomas took some stunning images around the route and you can view them on his link  HONC IMAGES

Official Event photographs are also now available to purchase from long time HONC supporter Suffolk Sport photography on this link.

Leading riders back were:
100K – Mark Chamberlain 4Hr 1 min.
50K – Male – Simon Amies 2hr 22min.
Female – Sarah Wight 3hr 8min.
Junior – Fraser Wight 2hr 27min.

Junior Prize Draw
The Junior Prize Draw for a Whyte Hardtail bike was Scott Matthews of Redditch RP CC

Very positive feedback
We had very positive feedback from riders yesterday particularly over the route changes & route marking, the friendliness & efficiency of the everyone from car parking, registration, static & riding marshals, catering at Guiting, sign -off, cycle recovery and last but not least T shirt sales which went extremely well.

A great weekend all round – I think we can be very proud of HONC & it’s reputation!

Thank you again for your help & support.
