Go ride event & the Winchcombe Kermesse

The ‘Go Ride’ event for young people will take place from 10 – 12 on Sunday 16th June.

There will be a maximum of 30 places available.

The British Cycling Coach will be setting up the course at the School from 9:15 and will need some help if any club members are available.

Apart from those who have volunteered to help with the ‘Go Ride’ event normal Club runs will take place.  The Kermesse starts at 2pm details of the programme for the day are set out below:

MORNING – FREE ‘GO RIDE’ activities for children aged 6 – 15/16

10am – 12

  • There will be a fun course laid out on the playing field to give the children a chance to test bike handling skills.
  • There will also be 10 lanes set aside for some mini races.
  • The sessions will be run by a British Cycling qualified ‘Go Ride’ coach who is CRB checked.
  • Children wishing to participate will need to bring their own bike and must have a helmet.  We will also need a Parental consent form to be completed

AFTERNOON

2pm – 4:30ap

  • The Road race will start at 2pm from the School.
  • There will be 80 riders aprox.
  • There will be a neutral zone where riders will follow a police escort through the Town.
  • Racing will commence along the Broadway Road when they reach Becketts Lane.
